Lisa was born in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania in 1973, and completed undergraduate studies in 1994 at the Pennsylvania State University in State College, Pennsylvania where she earned a Bachelor of Arts in Administration of Justice with a minor in Psychology. From there, she worked as a paralegal for two years for a small law firm in her hometown area of Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania. In 1999, she graduated from Western New England College School of Law in Springfield, Massachusetts with a Juris Doctorate degree. While in law school, she earned a spot on the American Trial Lawyers Association Moot Court Team, where she represented Western New England School of Law in its regional Moot Court competition.
In 1999, Lisa was hired by Merrill Lynch Trust Company and was promoted to an Assistant Vice President & Trust Officer in 2001. At Merrill Lynch, Lisa was responsible for 750 client life insurance trust accounts, Simultaneously, while working for Merrill Lynch, Lisa became a bar advocate in 2001. She practiced in area courts on a part-time basis while continuing to work for Merrill Lynch until October of 2002.
When Lisa left Merrill Lynch Trust Company in late 2002, she immediately went into private practice with Shawn Allyn. (see Firm Overview icon) Lisa has extensive experience in the criminal courts having handled thousands of criminal cases in the last eleven years.
Lisa also maintains a private practice, which includes personal injury, auto accidents and civil litigation.
Attorney Ball is also the former City Solicitor for the City of Holyoke, having served under the former Mayor Elaine A. Pluta in 2010-2011. In this capacity, she managed the City’s law department of four attorneys, negotiated union contracts for the City, represented the City in civil litigation, civil service hearings, arbitrations, and hearings before the Division of Labor Relations. She also drafted special legislation and city ordinances, and provided legal advice and opinions to every department in the City.
Lisa was admitted to practice law in both Pennsylvania and Massachusetts in 2000. She is a member of the Hampden County Bar Association, Hampden County Lawyers for Justice, Massachusetts Bar Association and the Pennsylvania Bar Association.
In addition, she is a lifetime member of the Penn State Alumni Association, is secretary of the Board of Directors for the Holyoke Children's Museum and is the President of the Holyoke Bar Association. Through this association, Lisa is very involved in community relations raising money for Holyoke charities for the last 12 years.
